Cristina Ridgeway
I was born in the great old city of Lisbon, Portugal. As a Portuguese native I had the chance to embrace it's sweet melodies of Fado and folk. Inspired by my parents and Grandmother, I was involved in music and theater since a young age. Received my first guitar for my 13th birthday from my family and soon there after started performing in local radio, school, restaurants and other functions. I joined my first rock band in 1980, called Codigo Postal (Zip Code). We recorded our first single in 1983, shortly before I had to move with my parents to the USA. In the years that followed, I performed with several Portuguese communities. Participated in special musical programs with the Mattatuck Museum, the Naugatuck Valley Community College Choir, Jazz Singers and the Waterbury Symphony in Waterbury. In 1993 I met my prince charming Ben and we have played music together ever since! We have two wonderful kids who express a profound connection to music as well. Currently I'm the music director for the Church of Eternal Light in Bristol, CT.
There is no greater inspiration for me than to be surrounded by family, good friends, my Sisters and Mother Earth!
